„Medizin mit einem Augenzwinkern“: Vortrag am Freiburger Philosophicum, Universitätsklinikum Freiburg

Bereits seit der griechischen Antike beschäftigten sich die Philosophen mit den Phänomenen Humor und Lachen. Heutzutage sind die Volksweisheiten „Humor ist die beste Medizin“ und „Lachen ist gesund“ weit verbreitet. Doch wie kann Humor konkret als Instrument in medizinischen und pflegenden Berufen eingesetzt werden?  Laut Vera Robinson erfüllt Humor in diesem Umfeld drei Hauptfunktionen: eine kommunikative, eine soziale und eine psychologische. Humor dient im medizinischen Umfeld dazu, wichtige Botschaften zu übermitteln, soziale Bindungen zu knüpfen und bei der Bewältigung von Belastungen und schwierigen Situationen zu helfen. Wohldosierter, situationsgerechter Humor bringt Leichtigkeit und Entspannung in den Klinikalltag und kann sich positiv auf das Wohlempfinden von Patient:innen, Ärzt:innen und Pflegenden auswirken.  Kirsten Hänle ging in ihrem interaktiven Vortrag auf die unterschiedlichen Facetten und Funktionen von Humor ein.  Anhand praktischer Beispiele beleuchtete sie die verschiedenen Chancen und Risiken verschiedener Humorstile und ging auf die Bedeutung ethischer Aspekte ein. Sie stellte umsetzbare Strategien zur Steigerung der eigenen Humorfähigkeiten und zur geschickten Anwendung von Humor im klinischen Umfeld vor. Anhand interaktiver Elemente amen die Zuhörer:innen ins Erleben der humorvollen Haltung und nahmen Anregungen mit, wie sie Humor bewusst in ihrem beruflichen Alltag einsetzen können.

„Overcoming Difficulties by Humor“ was the topic of Kirsten Haenle’s half day workshop for 18 international students of the M.Sc. Global Urban Health program at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg. The hybrid lecture was a mix of presentation, groupwork, physical impulses, discussions and reflections. As the students just started their course, this fun workshop made them grow together as a group. At the end of the workshop the students were able to understand the effects of humor as a coping strategy and to develop new perspectives and solutions in challenging situations.
